Join renowned local chef, Wendy Garcia of Tumerico, in a culinary exploration of Tucson’s unique heritage foods prepared from Mission Garden’s desert-adapted orchards and vegetable gardens.
Learn about the 4,000 years of continuous agricultural cultivation along the Santa Cruz River floodplain and the region’s ecological and cultural history presented by Jesús García, Conservation Research and Education Specialist at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Enjoy music by Tucson’s own multi-award winning classical guitarist, Dr. Eduardo M. Costa. Jamaica and mint teas will be available as well as a full cash bar, coffee from Exo Roast, rolls from Barrio Bread, and fig empanadas made with Mission Garden’s figs by La Estrella Bakery.
