CULTURE KITCHEN + FOOD JUSTICE EXPO

  • Jacome Plaza 101 North Stone Avenue Tucson, AZ, 85701 United States (map)

Tucson Meet Yourself has always celebrated the intersections of food and culture.

At the Culture Kitchen we showcase those connections front and center, offering talks,
demonstrations, tastings, and recipe-sharing all three days of the festival.

This year’s Culture Kitchen celebrates the passing on of culinary traditions through
families and community. Demonstrations will showcase the transfer of food knowledge via
multigenerational cooking demonstrations.

Also in this area visit the inaugural Food Justice Expo, a partnership between Tucson City
of Gastronomy and Southwest Folklife Alliance. Grassroots organizations, food businesses, and nonprofits from across Southern Arizona’s celebrated food system will share how their work strives for a more equitable and sustainable food economy through interactive displays and demonstrations. This rare opportunity to interact with the movers and shakers hopes to leave festival goers with a better understanding of the history and future of Tucson’s food.
