This event launches Carolyn's new book: A Desert Feast: Celebrating Tucson's Culinary Heritage. The agricultural and culinary history that led to Tucson's designation as the United State's first "City of Gastronomy" is told in Carolyn's new book! She shows how our first farmers grew crops and how their work continues to influence the Tucson restaurant fare. Carolyn documents how the arrival of soldiers, farmers, and missionaries of many cultural traditions influenced what Tucsonans eat. She has chosen others to be present as well for this event including Tucson "makers," local food system experts, and representatives from the City of Gastronomy.
