The monsoon season is the traditional time to plant many vegetables in the desert, which may also be why it is known to many gardeners as "second spring." Our summer rains open up a wide range of planting possibilities as well as complications. This workshop is for the newbie desert gardener, and well versed gardeners who may need a refresher course in monsoon planting.
This workshop will include:
- what vegetable and herb varieties to plant
- protecting your garden from the heat and winds
- maximizing rainwater
- a variety of monsoon ready seeds to plant in your own garden
